I like to have my smoothies bowls for breakfast in the morning. They are not too heavy while being lovely nourishing giving you enough energy to start the day!
It is also ideal as a post workout drink as provides you with proteins, hydrates and refuels your minerals after tough exercise.

Cashews are high in protein and fiber. Soaking it in water gives your smoothie a nice and creamy consistency when pureeing.
Beetroot has healing power. The dark red colour comes from a pigment called "betalain". It is known as an powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, fungicidal and aid in detoxification substance. Beet class the liver, purifies the blood and provides your body with iron.
Argula or rocket salad has detoxifying powers due to high level of chlorophyll (aka green colour). It aids digestion, lowers cholesterol and balances your blood sugar.
Banana will give you back your energy after working out.
Fresh coconut water will hydrate you as it contains large amounts of potassium. Perfect for rehydration and crucial for muscle recreation. - Being in Sydney I used to have one fresh coconut everyday after yoga. But as you hardly get them here you can just use the water of the mature cocos as well.
For the EXTRA Crunch feel free to top your smoothie bowl with some crunchy granola, muesli flakes, some fresh berries or sprinkle some seeds and nuts on top! You are going to love it!
ALL YOU NEED:
for one smoothie bowl
- water of one coconut
- 1 small beetroot, cooked
- 1 banana, chopped
- 1 handful of cashew nuts, soaked
- 1 hand of leafy green - rocket or baby spinach works best
ice cubes (optional)
- coconut flakes, for topping
THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT
- Soak the cashews in water (best the night before)
- Place all ingredients in your a blender and process until smooth (iiieeee).
- Pour into bowl and sprinkle with your favourite topping. Done!
